And we've been told there is no ending, and an ending all the same. Original Drawing

Do you often have that feeling of looking backward and forward in your life, simultaneously? Janus is the Roman god of beginnings and endings, in a sense - a 2-headed figure (seen in many other cultures and histories also) that is looking in opposite directions at the same time. In making this piece, I could feel the grounding of unsteady ground; the tension in our spines as we wrestle with how the past informs the future; and the glory of sunflowers and the way they bloom in the muck - they literally pull toxins from the soil as they grow, cleansing the soil for other plants, while making a face-sized bloom.

Place this drawing in a spot where you could use some good reminders of the beauty of your experiences, and how they’ve empowered you for what you’re doing now. And then leave them behind and soar, love!

Original pencil drawing on archival paper, currently in a copper-sprayed basic frame ready for hanging, or shipped without frame in sturdy tube, signed by the artist. Stands well on a table, too, with a plant :) <3
